| Roche, InterMune Agree to Collaborate on Hepatitis C (Update1) | | Posted Tuesday, October 17, 2006 6:58:58 PM by Blog57 Team | | Oct. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Roche Holding AG and InterMune Inc. agreed to collaborate on Hepatitis C drugs in an agreement worth as much as $530 million to InterMune. Roche will pay $60 million initially and as much as $470 million more as milestones are reached in bringing drugs to the market, the companies said today in a PR Newswire statement. The agreement centers on InterMune's lead candidate compound, ITMN-191, from a class of drug known as a protease inhibitor, which is to undergo clinical testing this year. Further drugs may result from the collaboration, according to the statement from Roche, based in Basel, Switzerland, and InterMune, of Brisbane, California.
