Hospital and Research Centre here has extended its offer of doing knee replacement surgeries at reduced cost, up to September 2006, according to Prashanth Marla, Medical Director of the hospital. He said in a release that the hospital did 23 knee replacement surgeries and 78 orthroscopic reconstructive surgeries at reduced cost in the past two months. Dr. Marla said many people suffered from arthritis and wearing out of knee joints. The worn out joints required total knee replacement. These surgeries were expensive and people fear about the complications. Keyhole surgery of the knee joint (arthroscopy) was performed for ligament injuries of the knee. These injuries occurred as a result of sports injuries or trauma.
